Coffee & Irish Cream Milkshake

It’s a little cold out but I don’t think it is ever too cold for ice cream!

Plus, with this boozy milkshake you will warm yourself right up due to the liquor! Totally justified!

I’m not sure what possessed me to make a booze-laden milkshake, or even a milkshake at all, but here it is! Don’t get me wrong, I like booze and I like milkshakes… I just don’t drink them that much. I think some booze occasionally in a fancy drink is good enough for me. My guy made me my favorite drink (an Arnold Palmer, aka Iced Tea & Lemonade) with some rum added in. Otherwise known as a fancy Arnold Palmer!

I had some Irish cream floating around from when I made Irish Cream Cupcakes for St. Patrick’s day with Ganache filling, they were amazing. I patted myself on the back when I made those. People loved them, mostly because of the ganache and the Irish cream frosting. I can’t blame them. Maybe I’ll turn it into a cake this year. A 2 layer chocolate stout cake with layers of ganache and Irish cream frosting. Yep, I’m doing that in March!

For now, here’s a milkshake to tide you over until March. What is your favorite booze filled drink?

Coffee & Irish Cream Milkshake

ingredients:

  • 1/3 -1/2 cup Irish cream liquor (Bailey’s or whatever brand you fancy)
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/3 cup brewed coffee (any roast)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate sauce

directions:

  1. Brew coffee. Either with a Keurig for single cup use or your trusty coffee maker.
  2. Combine 1/3 cup of coffee and 1/2 cup milk.
  3. Scoop the vanilla ice cream into a blender.
  4. Add the milk & coffee mixture and the irish cream, blend.
  5. Top with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You could also put some chocolate in the milkshake for good measure!
