Make Your Own Pumpkin Pie Spice

Instead of buying yet another spice bottle I encourage you to make your own pumpkin pie spice using spices you probably already have in your pantry. Spices are expensive and if you are like me, you want to collect them all, like Pokémon. So instead of spending 5 dollars on a spice that you will use a lot during the fall and holiday seasons, why not make it yourself?

I started by measuring the spices in pumpkin pie spice and placing them in a jar. I felt like I was in arts and crafts class and building those sand art bottles. You remember those, right? I loved to layer the colors and then make designs using a pencil. Instead of doing this, put the spices in a bowl so you can mix them thoroughly. Trust me, it makes more sense. If you want to have fun, do it the way shown in the picture above! I made designs before I completely mixed the spices.

After mixing, it will resemble cinnamon so make sure you label your jar with tape or something fancier if you prefer.
