Bourbon Apple Cider

This weekend was pretty exciting and eventful, to say the least. Someone was looking out for me. I got some incredible (yet terrifying) news, I won a cuisine art griddler from Katies Cucina and I went ice skating for the first time ever on Friday evening! Oh and I made this crazy good Bourbon Apple Cider. Remember the Homemade Apple Cider I made last week? This isn’t it because we drank all of that already but it is just as good. Even better maybe since it has Maker’s Mark bourbon in it. But if you did decide to try making your own apple cider, you could definitely try adding bourbon to it and it would be pretty great.
Despite all of these really great (and still terrifying) things that happened this weekend, I woke up this morning with a serious case of the Monday’s. I’m a bit under the weather, I have two finals tomorrow and I’m having some really scary chest pain. Don’t worry — I made a doctor’s appointment… But at least I can (kind of) ice skate!

I live in New York and yet I have never been ice skating. Isn’t that a crime or something? There is a rink not too far from where I live. Joe is a hockey guy and can skate amazingly well. I loved seeing him do his thang. To be totally honest, I was clutching onto his arm for dear life. I barely let him go as we went lap after lap. I was nice enough to cling to the boards up against the sides while he skated past all of the kids, he is really great!
My problem is that I don’t know how to stop. I get it in theory but putting it to practice in front of teenagers made me really nervous so instead I clung to Joe. I bet he has bruises on his arms today… My favorite part was gliding while Joe took my arms and skated faster. Also doing that cute thing that couples do when they skate staring at each other. I felt like I was in the movie Serendipity… Joe is my John Cusack.

oh yes! what more can I ask for when it’s holiday season and it’s cold outside. Staying in CA, we never get to experience snow .. forget ice skating. Glad you had fun and I am sure you will do much better next time!
