Sweet Remedy

Red Cherry Sangria

Happy Birthday Rachel! I hope you enjoy sangria 😉

Red Cherry Sangria | Sweet-Remedy.com

Today some of the lovely ladies in the blog world are celebrating the birthday of our friend and fellow blogger, Rachel from Rachel Cooks! The theme of this virtual birthday party is  “drinks and little bites.” I don’t know about you, Rachel, but I like to relax with a glass of fruity red sangria. I hope you like it!  Since I still had a crazy amount of cherries from the 10lb cherry challenge from OXO and North West Cherry Growers I decided to incorporate cherries into this summertime sangria. I added oranges and peaches with a cherry flavored brandy and classic triple sec orange liquor. The results of this red cherry sangria were sweet and fruity, just like summer!

I’m a wine-o club member at Applewood Winery in Warwick, NY and when I went to pick up my wine for the quarter I asked them what the two best wines were for sangria. They sent me off with their classic International Red and Wayayanda White to mix together. I’m telling you, these ladies know their wine! What a great combination they gave me. I was tempted to buy the blackberry wine they also offer but I didn’t want the blackberries to offset my cherry flavor so I decided not get all crazy, this time. Next time, all bets are off!

Rachel, I hope you have a great birthday. Truly! You deserve it. Now go get a drink, grab some popcorn, eat some pear jelly bellies and unwind!

Your sangria looks wonderful! I made mojitos with my cherries but a sangria would have been a great addition. Happy to have found your blog!
